My birthday!!

Yesterday, I went out to have dinner with Hyunsuh, my baby, and my husband.
We ate all the lobster that I want.
It was expensive but it was tasty.
Last Sunday was my birthday. But, I didn't have any special time for myself.
I had to go to the hospital to visit my father-in-law.
So, the next day, yesterday, my husband and I had a great dinner.
My daughter also looked happier outdoors than when she was indoor.
This was how I celebrated my 32nd birthday.

La La Land - 라라랜드

I watch the movie "LaLa Land" every day and I have memorized the script. I think it really helps me improve my English skill. There are two main characters in the movie, Mia and Sebastian. They meet for the first time at a restaurant where Sebastian works. Mia overhears him playing as she passes by. After finishing his playing, Mia attempts to compliment him, but he brushes her off. That's the point of this movie. If Sebastian accepts her compliment and they go out together, the end of this movie would be different.  Although they couldn't be together, I can't say that there's nothing to gain. p.s I copied 5th and 6th lines from Wikipedia.  나는 매일 라라랜드를 보고 대사를 외운다. 영어 공부를 하는데 도움이 많이 된다. 미아와 세바스찬이 이 영화의 두 주인공이다. 세바스찬이 레스토랑에서 일할 때 주인공들이 처음으로 만났다. 미아가 지나가다가 우연히 세바스찬의 연주를 듣게 된다. 세바스챤의 연주가 끝나고 미아는 칭찬했지만, 세바스챤은 그녀를 무시한다. 이 부분이 이 영화의 포인트다. 만약 세바스챤이 미아의 칭찬을 듣고 같이 있었다면, 아마도 영화의 결말이 달라지지 않았을까. 미...

토익 스피킹 공부 Read a text aloud ( Studying TOEIC Speaking : Read a text aloud)

스피쿠스 전화영어와 함께 하고 있는 토익 스피킹 공부. 지금까지 Reading part를 6번 했다. 총 10분 동안 수업을 하는데,  Reading part 한 단락만 연습한다. 원래는 수업 하나당 문단이 두 개씩 있어 총 3일 동안 하는 수업이지만,  나는 하다 보니 한문단밖에 할 수 없었다. 그래서 총 6번을 하게 되었다. 예전에도 같은 코스를 한 적이 있었는데, 그때는 기억에 10분 동안 두 문단을 했던 것 같은데, 아마 선생님에 따라 스타일이 다른게 아닌가 싶다. 분명 나의 실력은 그때보다 지금이 날 텐데, 이상하네,, 1. 수업에 들어가기 전 나의 연습 과정 토익 스피킹 시험에서 reading 파트에서 미리 연습할 시간이 충분하진 않다. 45초 연습 시간이 주어지고, 읽는 것은 45초 안에 읽어야 한다. 그런데 나는 연습을 많이 하고 수업에 참여했다. 내 딴엔 연습을 많이 해도 어차피 수업 중에 지적을 받는다. 1) 문장을 그냥 한번 읽는다. 2) mp3를 들으며 따라 읽는다. 3) mp3를 따라 들으며 내 목소리만 녹음한다.  ( 텍스트 변환으로 녹음하면 내가 안되는 발음을 더 쉽게 알게 된다.) 4) mp3는 듣지 않고 바로 내 목소리만 녹음한다. 5) 들어본다. 어느정도 알아들으면 그나마 오케이.    내가 하는 말이 영어인지 한국어인지 구분이 안 갈 때도 가끔 있다. ㅠㅠ 6) 문장을 조금씩 외우면서 읽어본다. 완벽히 외우기 어려우면 단기 기억으로    한문장씩이라도 외워가면서 읽어본다. 그냥 글자를 따라가면서 읽는 것과 외운 것을 읽는 것은   조금 다르다. 7) 마지막 단계 (이건 최근에 추가한 건데 생각보다 효과가 좋은 것 같다) 한국어 설명을 먼저 읽고, 영어 문장을 읽는다. 한번 해보면 알겠지만, 한국어라고 잘 읽지는 않는다. 내가 한국어 말하는 거 ...

My favorite hobby - biking

I went biking last week with my friend.  It’s been a long time since I went biking because of restrictions on social distance. It’s still time to be careful, but it is an outdoor activity so I tried it. I went to Arabetgil biking road which is one of the famous biking routes. I could get a stamp and I put it in my certificate handbook. There is a handbook that provides bike paths and locations where I can get a stamp. I only have three of them so far. I hope I will get at least five stamps this year. 지난주에 친구와 함께 자전거를 타러 갔다. 사회적 거리두리 때문에 오랜만에 자전거를 타러 갔다. 아직은 조심스러울 때이지만, 야외라서 갔다. 아라뱃길을 갔는데 자전거 도로로 유명한 곳이다. 인증수첩에 도장을 받을 수 있는데, 이 인증수첩은 자전거 길과 도장 받는 곳이 표시되어 있다. 나는 이제 겨우 세개 받았다. 올해 안에 최소 5개 도장을 받고 싶다.
